- I forget sometimes that I am not a teenager any more. Then I go out on Saturday night and have dinner and a few drinks over the course of several hours and lose the entire next day to the need to sleep and nap and sleep some more. It probably did not help that I spent most of Saturday day babysitting the naughtiest niece, who was at her very naughtiest. Wine and exhaustion and a very late night do not make for a particularly productive morning after the night before.

Skimming my flist just now, booze seems to have been a recurring theme for the weekend. Maybe it's a summer thing, although given the lack of anything resembling a real summer here, maybe not.

- I need sunshine so badly it hurts.

- I spent my recovery time flaked out with DVDs and tea. I watched Fish Tank, In The Loop and some of Pride and Prejudice (the BBC miniseries, not the film. It's my favourite comfort TV). All of which I recommend, although they are good in very different ways and Fish Tank was probably a bit heavy for watching with a not-quite-hangover.

The British theme (and the recurring Tom Hollander) was entirely unintentional.

mmmm, vodka tonic.

Heh, I like those days when I am like 'hey, it's Saturday! I can have a glass of wine with lunch!' and then I nap for like fifteen hours.

You can have some of my sunshine today - it's gonna be HOT!

*steals your sunshine*

I'm not sure you can call it a nap if it's equivalent to two nights' sleep!

Mostly if I drink at lunchtime, I get a headache after one drunk (instant hangover, no waiting!) or I am awake until it's tomorrow!

ETA: one drink, not one drunk. Although maybe either is appropriate!

Hhahha, one drunk DOES equal instant hangover, by almost definition!

Staying awake! Impossible! NAPS FOREVER.

Somebody needs to tuck me into bed so i can try one, see if they are as wonderful as I remember.

*tucks you in*

I am not actually very good at naps. They often give me a headache. The only time I can really enjoy them properly is when I already feel vaguely hungover!

My problem is I can't do the short ones. It's either a 2-4 hour nap or staring at the ceiling going 'nap? oh nap?'

The only thing that helps is swmkit. If he decides he wants to nap with me, I am out like a LIGHT. He's the best narcotic ever.

Apparently the trick to a power nap is coffee immediately beforehand. I don't know how well it works, though.

My cat is more likely to come and sit on my legs and yowl until I get up and feed him or let him out or open the door so that he can look outside for five seconds before changing his mind!

Hahhaa, so you fall asleep and then BOOM, the coffee hits your system like 20 minutes later and jolts you awake. It sounds DEADLY.

swmkit goes for the annoying 'feeeeeed me' in the morning and right when I get home from work, the rest of the time he's fine. The problem is his morning comes earlier and earlier and it's currently at like 5:30 am !!!

See, now I kind of want to try it!
